Public Transportation in Albania – Buses Schedules from Tirana

One of the things you would spot in the first moment you came to the country is: How Public Transportation works in Albania?

It is not one of the things that we are necessarily proud for 🙂

Please be advised that there is at least one Bus Station for each city where must of the buses start from. The good thing is that you always would find “fourgons” who are usually faster and starting where will be almost full.

Good News ! Public Transportation in Albania is getting better. In this article we would go more in details about how it works starting from Tirana.

There are many optional ways to travel fromTirana such as minibuses ,shuttle service ,renting a car but the most affordable one is taking a bus. But, where to take a bus?

According to the region the city you want to go is located there are 3 Bus Stations:

South Albania Bus Station

The bus station that take off to the South of Albania is located to a place called “Southern cities bus station” at the end of “Dritan Hoxha” street, known also as the “Eagle Square”
From here you can travel to cities in the south like Saranda, Gjirokaster, Fier, Lushnje, Berat, Vlore, Himare , Dhermi, Kavaje, Durres, Konispol, Permet.

Other ways to travel can be the minibuses that are slightly more expansive but reduce your traveling time. The trick about these minibuses is that they don’t have an exact time that takes off and sometimes you have to wait until the minivan is nearly full.
