This buggy group tour combines the adrenaline offered by the Buggy driving with the unique experience of staying at a shepherd hut.

In addition, during this itinerary, you will get the chance to visit some of the most interesting sports in the city of Gjirokastra. Furthermore, you will be welcomed to participate in shepherd everyday life duties and to live like them for a day. A unique experience in farming and milking the sheep.

What to Expect - Technical Details

Driving the Buggies requires a minimum driving skills. Every vehicle has a 2 persons capacity and are suitable for most of the terreins of the trail. In addition, a team of technics will escort for any technical problems or defects.

Personal Buggies are avaliable on a personal costs of 50 euros.

Accomodations does not provides seperate beds but a costumised futon mattres is avaliable for 6 persons. Traditional Sheep leathers are provided as “Bed linnen”. Forthermore, for more comfort personal sleepingbags are accepted.

Itinerary

Day 1 Tirana - Gjirokastra (Driving)

Leaving Tirana at 6:00 am we will head toward the mysterious Albanian South. After 3 hours we will reach the stone city of Gjirokastra. It has always been an important Economic, Artistic and Political center. Famous for its exuberance culture and unique architecture, Gjirokastra has also been blessed with breathtaking mountains and cristal rivers surrounding from all sides.
Drop off at “Cerciz Topulli” Square, the main square of the city.

Gjirokastra - Cajupi Camping (Buggy Driving)

After the instructions will start the Buggy tour toward the mountain of Cajupi. After crossing the national road, the road continues along the Drinos valley, passing over the dam of the artificial lake of “Doftise”. In addition, we pass through the mouth of Selca and in the canyons of the mountain river Suha, stopping at the “Pigeons Cave” and the waterfalls of the same name. Free time for Swiming or Exploring the Canyons.
The adventure continues along the “Nemecka” mountain in the village of Polican for a lunch stop.
Driving through a few small local villages, start the uphill driving toward Cajupi Field, which will be the last destination.

In addition, everyone will be encouraged and welcomed to help the shepherds with daily duties such as preparing the lamb for cooking, preparing the fire, serving the sheep, etc.
Dinner at the shepherd place with local products.
Accommodation in traditional Stone Sheperd hut.

Day 2Cajupi - Gjirokastra (Buggy Driving)

The morning starts early with milking the sheep and preparing breakfast with fresh products. Buggy driving back to Gjirokastra. This time we will complete the loop around the Cajupi field. In addition, descending “Lunxheri” Mountain and the return to Gjirokastra.
Around 45 minutes of drive in a mostly asphalt road.

Gjirokastra - Tirana (Driving)

Walking tour of Gjirokaster where we will visit some of the most interesting parts of the city.
The windy path paved all in stone walks us into a traditional bazaar with the last destination, the Castle of Gjirokastra.
Free time for lunch (not included in the price) and return on Tirana.
