   I went on a private day trip to Montenegro with this company and everything went great. Previously I had never used a tour company before so I didn't know what... read more to expect, but they arrived on time and picked me up from where I was staying in Tirana. From that point on there was a lot of conversation about various topics and it made the several hours drive to Montenegro a lot more enjoyable. Being with a local tour company who could speak the local language helped the border crossing go more smoothly. And as I was on a private tour, all the focus was on me and making sure I had the best trip possible. Andi and Kevi were very knowledgeable and each had their own good points. Andi was great about describing the history of the places we visited and he's a very talkative person in general and the sort of person who could get on well with everyone. Kevi was a great driver and was skilled at taking photos. The day was all positives with no negatives and I enjoyed the trip so much I will be booking another tour with them soon.

Explore the Best of Albanian South and 3 UNESCO Heritage in a private guided tour from Tirana. During the 4 days, you will be able to explore most of each city due to walking tours. Discovering a country or a region is never complete without trying the local cuisine. For this we carefully select all the dining experiences and wine tasting options, to make sure of a complete tabloid of the country.

Symbolically divided in Half by the “Shkumbini” river, Albania has 2 sub ethnoses. “Toskeria” is the part in the south differs from the way of speaking, traditions, and even religion sometimes from the North of the Country or “Gegeria”. This also reflects differences in the cuisine and way of leaving and traditional buildings.

Itinerary

Day 1Tirana - Durres - Berat

Be ready for leaving Tirana at 09:00 and driving toward Durres. Named also as an “Open Book of History”, it is living proof of the last 25 centuries and many civilizations. Founded as the Greek Colony, the city had passed glorious points in History, Luckily we have some of them still today.
City tour of Durres with a visit at the “Roman Amphitheater”, Medieval Market, and more.

We will leave Durres behind to head toward another city with great importance for Albanian History, Culture and Heritage. Being part of UNESCO World Heritage, Berat is known as a typical Ottoman Style City with a local blend of styles in architecture, With more than 20 centuries of history, it is a mosaic city of different cultures and influences.
City Tour of Berat into its 3 typical neighborhoods “Kala”, “Mangalem” and “Gorica”.
Visit at the Orthodox Monastery, “Dormitory of Saint Mary” and “Onufri” museum of Iconography.
Overnight in Berat.

Day 2Berat - Sarande - Butrint - Gjirokaster

Drive along the amazing Albanian Riviera. Some free time along the coast of Riviera and visits in typical villages and local restaurants to get introduced better with the local culture and heritage.

Part of the UNESCO heritage, Butrint is also the most important Archeologic site in Albania. The ancient Greek and later Roman city and bishopric in Epirus inhabited since prehistoric times. Visit in Butrint and the pretty Island of Ksamil.

After experiencing the golden Antiquity, we will go deeper into the Medieval times in stone, a mystic city like Gjirokastra. As Ismail Kadare (Albanian Writer) describes it, it is not a city like the rest. Under the solid, grey stone tiles and stones swarm the soft and vital flesh of life. City Tour of Gjirokastra along the typical cobblestone paths connecting the typical fortress-style houses. Overnight in the City.

Day 3Gjirokaster - Permet - Korce - Pogradec

We leave the city to drive deeper into the East and to explore more. A short stop at Permet by the Vjosa River. Vjosa is still one of the very few wild rivers in Europe. On the other hand, Permet is the center of Albanian Slow Food and local gastronomy. The afternoon Station will be in the city of Korca. Highly known for its Culture, where the first Albanian Schooled bloomed in 1887. Short walking tour of Korca.

To end up the day, we will be heading to Pogradec for the night.

Day 4City tour of Pogradec and Drilon - Return in Tirana

Day Tour of Pogradec & Ohrid Lake to enjoy and relax one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe. Known also as the “Favorite Holidays Place” of many kings and politicians, Pogradec has been the favorite holiday place of Enver Hoxha, the former Albanian Communist Leader. It is also where Constantine’s parents (Emperor of Byzant) spend most of the holidays.

In addition, the next destination will be the park of Drilon. Situated less than 5 Km from Pogradec this park has been the poetic muse of many poets and artists. The magnetic and relaxing atmosphere created from the shallow waters, swamps, and Willow trees make this place very romantic. It is not surprising seeing just married couples shooting their wedding albums there.

Return in Tirana in the Afternoon.
