Morning: Departure from Tirana
Your tour begins with a scenic drive from Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania, to Mitrovica in Kosovo. As we travel through the picturesque Albanian countryside, enjoy stunning views of the mountains and rural landscapes, setting the tone for the journey ahead.
Mitrovica: A City with a Divided History
Upon arrival in Mitrovica, we will take a walking tour of this historically significant city, located along the Ibar River. Mitrovica is known for its divided history, shaped by ethnic and political tensions. The northern part is predominantly inhabited by ethnic Serbs, while the southern part is home to ethnic Albanians. As we explore the city, we’ll visit key sites, such as the Ibar River Bridge, which symbolizes the division between the two communities. Additionally, you’ll learn about the city’s role in the Kosovo conflict and its recovery since the war.
After our visit to Mitrovica, we’ll continue toward Pristina, Kosovo’s lively capital, with a 1.5 to 2-hour drive through changing landscapes. Upon arrival, we’ll begin our exploration of this vibrant city. Our first stop will be the Newborn Monument, a symbol of Kosovo’s independence, which is repainted annually on Kosovo’s Independence Day. This monument represents the birth of the new nation and its ongoing resilience.
Next, we’ll visit Mother Teresa Square, dedicated to the famous humanitarian. Here, you’ll hear about how Pristina transformed from a small town to the capital of the youngest country in Europe, while also taking in views of the area.

After visiting Prekaz, we continue our journey south to Prizren, a picturesque town situated about 1.5 hours from Pristina.
