Itinerary

Day 1Tirana → Vermosh | Into the Albanian Alps

Your adventure begins in Tirana, the energetic capital of Albania, where modern life meets Ottoman-era charm. After a morning briefing and coffee, you’ll hit the road north toward the Albanian Alps, passing winding mountain roads, dense forests, and small villages where life moves at a slower pace.

Once in Vermosh, one of Albania’s most remote and pristine alpine villages, hop on your bike for an afternoon of exploration. Pedal through narrow trails that wind along rivers, cross wooden bridges, and pass alpine meadows dotted with grazing sheep. Along the way, stop at a local farm to meet villagers, sample homemade cheese, and taste mountain herbs still harvested the traditional way.

Overnight in Vermosh.

Day 2Around Vermosh | Hiking and Local Immersion

Wake up to the crisp mountain air of Vermosh and start the day with a guided hike through alpine valleys and along rivers. You’ll follow trails that lead past waterfalls, lush meadows, and wooden farms, discovering the untouched beauty of northern Albania. Along the way, stop at small villages to meet locals, see traditional crafts, and learn about mountain life.

After the hike, enjoy lunch with local cheese, bread, and fresh mountain herbs in a scenic meadow. In the afternoon, continue exploring the area on foot, crossing wooden bridges and following riverside paths to hidden viewpoints.

The peaceful sunset will be interrupted by the sheep’s orchestra returning from their pasture. Assisting a local family in milking the sheeps and getting to know the process of cheese making.

The day ends back in Vermosh with a hearty dinner and a barbecue by the river, sharing stories and tasting dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. This is a full day of active exploration and cultural immersion, giving you a deep connection to Albania’s northern mountains.

Day 3Vermosh → Diber | Cycling Through Untamed Landscapes

Today, your journey takes you from the high mountains of Vermosh to the rolling valleys of Diber. Along the way, you’ll experience some of Albania’s most scenic cycling routes, crossing rivers, valleys, and forested hills. The roads wind past villages where wooden houses cling to cliffsides, and the occasional shepherd waves from a hilltop.

Stop for coffee in a small village cafe and try homemade pastries while chatting with locals who remember the old ways of life. Optional short hikes give you the chance to stretch your legs and take photos of sweeping vistas.

Arriving in Diber, you’ll check into a cozy guesthouse surrounded by orchards and forests.

Day 4Diber → Lin | From Mountains to Lake Ohrid

After breakfast, leave the mountains behind and head south toward Lake Ohrid, one of Europe’s oldest and deepest lakes. The landscape gradually changes from alpine peaks to gentle hills, olive groves, and serene lakeside villages. Along the route, stop at scenic viewpoints, capturing the dramatic contrast of mountains meeting water.

Arrive in Lin, a quaint lakeside village with cobbled streets, stone houses, and a rich history dating back to antiquity. Explore the village’s small mosaics and churches, or simply wander along the lakeshore, enjoying the reflection of the mountains in the crystal-clear water.

Evening brings a lakefront barbecue, with grilled fish, fresh vegetables, and local wine, while the sun dips behind the mountains. Lin’s peaceful ambiance and breathtaking views make this day one of the highlights of your adventure.

Day 5Lin | Full-Day Biking, Kayaking & Sport Fishing

Today is a full immersion into active adventure on and around Lake Ohrid. Begin with a cycling tour around the lake, taking scenic trails along the water and through small lakeside villages. Stop at hidden beaches, local markets, and charming cafes for coffee or snacks.

In the afternoon, switch to water-based adventure: kayak across the calm lake waters, enjoy sport fishing, or take a dip in the crystal-clear lake. The lake is rich in fish species and surrounded by untouched nature — an ideal playground for outdoor enthusiasts.

Take a break for a lakeside picnic or barbecue lunch, then continue exploring the area on bike or by foot. As evening falls, relax by the water, watch the sunset over the lake, and enjoy a quiet dinner with the soft sounds of water lapping the shore.

Day 6Pogradec → Tirana | Farewell to Albania

On your final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast by the lake before driving back to Tirana, stopping at scenic viewpoints or quaint villages for last-minute photos and souvenirs. Reflect on six days of cycling, kayaking, hiking, and cultural immersion.

Arrive in the capital in the afternoon. Here, your tour concludes, leaving you with memories of Albania’s hidden valleys, remote villages, and pristine lakes — a hybrid adventure that combined active exploration with authentic experiences off the beaten path.
