Dubrovnik to Tirana: Albania & Montenegro 6 Day Tour

Your journey begins with a private transfer from Dubrovnik at 11:00. After crossing into Montenegro, enjoy spectacular coastal scenery before arriving in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Kotor.

Meet your guide and begin exploring one of the Adriatic’s best-preserved medieval towns. Hidden behind impressive Venetian walls, Kotor features narrow stone streets, elegant palaces, historic churches, and lively squares filled with cafés and local life.

Highlights include St. Tryphon Cathedral, the Clock Tower, the Square of Arms, and beautiful views across the Bay of Kotor.

After breakfast, travel into Montenegro’s mountains to visit Cetinje, the country’s historic royal capital.

Here you’ll admire former royal residences, historic government buildings, and visit the famous Cetinje Monastery, one of Montenegro’s most important Orthodox religious sites.

Next, stop at the spectacular viewpoint overlooking Sveti Stefan, the iconic fortified island that has become one of Montenegro’s most recognizable landmarks.

Later, continue to Budva for a guided walking tour through its beautiful Old Town. Surrounded by medieval walls, Budva’s narrow marble streets, charming churches, and lively squares reveal more than 2,500 years of history.

Leaving Budva behind, travel south to Stari Bar, one of Montenegro’s most fascinating archaeological sites.

After exploring the fortress, continue into Albania.

Arriving in Shkoder, enjoy a guided city tour through one of the country’s oldest cultural centers. Walk along the lively pedestrian boulevard, admire elegant Italian-influenced architecture, and learn about the city’s long history as an important crossroads between East and West.

After breakfast, travel through northern Albania toward one of the country’s most celebrated culinary destinations.

Your first stop is Mrizi i Zanave, an internationally acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant that has become a symbol of Albania’s modern gastronomic movement. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, the restaurant celebrates traditional recipes prepared with locally sourced seasonal ingredients from nearby farms.

Following lunch, continue toward Berat, one of Albania’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” Berat is famous for its white Ottoman houses that rise along the hillside beneath the impressive castle.

Explore Berat Castle, still home to local residents, admire ancient churches and mosques, and enjoy panoramic views across the Osum River before overnighting in Berat.

This morning offers more time to experience Berat before heading south through the beautiful Albanian countryside.

Arrive in Gjirokaster, another UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkably preserved Ottoman architecture.

Dominated by one of the largest castles in the Balkans, Gjirokaster is often called the “Stone City” because of its distinctive slate-roofed houses climbing the hillside.

During the guided tour, visit Gjirokaster Castle, stroll through the historic bazaar, and discover why this city remains one of Albania’s finest examples of Ottoman urban design.

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive north toward Tirana.
