Itinerary
Tour of Montenegro and Kosovo - Kotor, Budva, Prizren and Pristina in 2 days from Tirana and Durres

First day City Tour of Prizren and Pristina

City Tour of Prizren – The Cultural Heart of Kosovo

We begin our journey from Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania. After a scenic drive through the Albanian countryside, we go to North Albania, known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. After that, we entered Kosovo territory and made our stop in Prizren.

Prizren, a city rich in history and tradition, often referred to as the cultural capital of Kosovo. Nestled beneath the Prizren Castle, this town has played a key role in the region’s political and cultural development.

Our walking tour will include a visit to the House of the Prizren League, where pivotal steps toward Albanian independence were taken in the 19th century. The Ethnographic Museum inside the House offers insight into local traditions and the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Next, we’ll visit the Stone Bridge of Love, one of Prizren’s most photographed landmarks, before heading to the Traditional Bazaar. Here, you’ll wander through narrow streets lined with handicraft shops, artisan stores, and local markets that give Prizren its unique charm. We’ll also pass the Sinan Pasha Mosque, a stunning example of Ottoman-era architecture. The tour ends with a traditional lunch, offering a taste of Prizren’s renowned local cuisine.

City Tour of Pristina – The Modern Capital of Kosovo

In the afternoon, we head to Pristina, the dynamic capital of Kosovo. Known for its youthful energy and rapid development, Pristina is a city where tradition meets modernity.

Our tour will start at the National Library of Kosovo, an architectural landmark with a distinctive Brutalist style. The building, completed in 1982, combines Byzantine, Ottoman, and Serbian elements, offering a fascinating glimpse into Kosovo’s architectural evolution.

We’ll continue our tour through the City Center, visiting the Newborn Monument, a symbol of Kosovo’s independence, and the Mother Teresa Cathedral, dedicated to the famous Albanian humanitarian. Along the way, we’ll see several important religious sites, including the Carshia Mosque, the oldest mosque in Pristina, dating back to 1321.

Throughout the day, you’ll experience the mix of cultures, from Prizren’s historical charm to Pristina’s modern spirit, making for a truly unforgettable exploration of Kosovo’s most important cities.

After our exploration of Pristina, we’ll head back to Shkodër to spend the night.

Day 2Tour of Budva and Kotor

Exploration of Kotor – The “Little Venice” of Montenegro

Our day begins as we leave behind the scenic Lake Skadar and drive towards the stunning Kotor, a city nestled in a dramatic bay, surrounded by towering mountains. Founded around the 6th century BC, Kotor has been an important trading and strategic center throughout history. The city’s well-preserved Old Town is a living testament to its rich past, with influences from various periods, especially the Venetian era.

Our walking tour begins at the Bay of Kotor, with panoramic views of the marina and the picturesque coastline. From there, we’ll make our way toward the Sea Gate, the entrance to the Old City, which is not only a symbol of the city’s history but also a memorial to its liberation from World War II in 1944.

As we wander through the narrow streets of the Old Town, we’ll pass small squares surrounded by traditional buildings and visit key historical landmarks, including St. Tryphon Cathedral and the Kotor Fortress. The charm of Kotor lies in its ability to transport you back in time, with its medieval architecture and historical significance at every turn.

Driving from Kotor to Budva – Exploring Montenegro’s Adriatic Riviera

After our visit to Kotor, we continue our journey south, following the scenic coastline along the Montenegro Riviera. As we drive through this picturesque stretch, we’ll pass by tiny rocky beaches and dramatic landscapes, arriving in the vibrant coastal town of Budva.

Budva is one of Montenegro’s most important tourist destinations, with a history that dates back over 2,600 years. Our exploration of the Old Town will start with a visit to the Roman Ruins and the Budva Fortress, offering spectacular views of the coast and the surrounding area. The fortress, perched on the edge of the sea, provides a perfect spot to admire the breathtaking landscape.

As we stroll through Budva’s charming narrow streets, we’ll have time to explore its quaint shops, cafés, and local sights. The Old Town is full of character, with its medieval walls and vibrant atmosphere. After the tour, you’ll have some free time to enjoy a leisurely lunch and soak in the Mediterranean charm of this beautiful coastal town.
