Balkan Tour - Albania, North Macedonia & Kosovo

Day 1 Tirana - Durres - Berat

Kickoff your Visit Balkans tour with a departure from Tirana at 09:00 and drive toward Durrës, one of Albania’s oldest cities, located on the Adriatic coast. Known as an “Open Book of History”, Durrës reflects 25 centuries of civilization. Founded as a Greek colony, the city has witnessed many glorious moments throughout its long history — many of which can still be seen today.

Enjoy a city tour of Durrës, including visits to the Roman Amphitheater, the Medieval Market, and other historical landmarks.

After exploring Durrës, continue the journey toward Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the “City of a Thousand Windows”. Berat is a perfect example of Ottoman architecture blended with cultural influences. Explore the three historic neighborhoods of Kala, Mangalem, and Gorica, including the Orthodox Monastery “Dormition of Saint Mary” and the Onufri Museum of Iconography.

Optional: wine tasting at a local winery – €20 per person.

Day 2Berat - Sarande - Butrint - Gjirokaster

After breakfast, depart from Berat and head south toward Sarandë, a vibrant coastal city on the Albanian Riviera. Known for its turquoise waters and scenic views, Sarandë offers a brief but unforgettable stop to enjoy the seaside atmosphere.

Continue to the Archaeological Park of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Albania’s most important archaeological sites. Once a Greek colony and later a Roman city, Butrint has been inhabited since prehistoric times and holds ruins from multiple civilizations. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the famous Three Islands of Ksamil, one of the most breathtaking sights along the Ionian coast.

Following the visit to Butrint, return to Sarandë for lunch before continuing your journey toward Gjirokastër. Arrive in the Old Town of Gjirokastër for overnight.

Day 3Gjirokaster - Permet - Pogradec

In the morning, explore Gjirokastër, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Stone City”.
