A great brother sister team of Andi and Sindi. We also tasted their home made mixture of raki,water,honey,cloves and cinnamon. This mixture is heated and was amazing.i will make it for a cold winter night apres ski!! Memorable day next time we book their tours too!

   I went on a private day trip to Montenegro with this company and everything went great. Previously I had never used a tour company before so I didn't know what... read more to expect, but they arrived on time and picked me up from where I was staying in Tirana. From that point on there was a  lot of conversation about various topics and it made the several hours drive to Montenegro a lot more enjoyable. Being with a local tour company who could speak the local language helped the border crossing go more smoothly. And as I was on a private tour, all the focus was on me and making sure I had the best trip possible. Andi and Kevi were very knowledgeable and each had their own good points. Andi was great about describing the history of the places we visited and he's a very talkative person in general and the sort of person who could get on well with everyone.    Our favorite part of this tour was having Xhulio as our guide. Even though it was raining heavily at times, he walked us around the city explaining all the important... read more details of every place we visited. We really enjoyed learning about the history of this former communist country during our visit to Bunk Art2.  We also enjoyed going up by cable car to visit Dajti Mountain. We even experienced a hail storm which delayed our descent back to the city. Afterwards, we asked Xhulio to take us to eat and we had the best meal of our trip at Ceren a typical Albanian food restaurant. We loved the food and how cheap it was for the amount of food served. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful tour.

Tour Details

This tour will introduce you to the local Tirana and its cultural, historical and culinary heritage. As an urban metropolis, it is full of contrasts in which can easily be noticed the scars from the past and the present. Above all, it is the crossway of different periods of Albanian Modern History.

This Private tour of Tirana is a combination of City Walking Tour and Driving Tour. During the walking part, we will be able to explore most of the City Centre of Tirana, Main Boulevard, New Bazaar Area and “Bllok”.

Out of the city we drive toward the Bunkart, a former Nuclear Bunkers of the ’70. The most lively souvenir of the Albanian Communist Period. The next station will be driving to Dajti Mountain when we get the cable car to enjoy the great view of Tirana.

This tour has a normal amount of walk in a paved, flat terrain during the Walking City Tour. Several breaks will be available for drinks or lunch.

The second part is mainly driving excluding the Bunkart exploration. Small walk quantity.

DrivingBunkart

Built during the ’70s it was an Anti-Atomic Bunker that will protect the Albanian Communist Elite in case of a Nuclear Attack. With more than 100 rooms, now it is a Unique Museum that introduces us the everyday Albanian Life after the Second World War till the ’90, under the Communist Regime.

DrivingDajti Mountain Cable Car

Not far from Bunkart we will get the Cable Car which sends us near the top of Dajti Mountain when we can enjoy an amazing view of the City.

WalkingMain Boulevard "Deshmoret e Kombit"

Build in the ’40s during the Italian occupation of Albania it was first named “Avenue of the Empire”. The architecture was very similar to the Fascist Axe of the Italian Flag. After the Second World War, hugely used for Military Parades organized by communist goverment. Big Show of the time!

Walking"Blloku"

The former Residencial Area of the Communist Elite. It is where the Enver Hoxha used to live with his family and his close supporters. During the Communist time, entering there was not possible as it was guarded by the military.
Now, totally different is the main business and nightlife area of Tirana. Still, the Villa of Enver Hoxha stands there, as the last souvenir of the past regime.

WalkingScanderbeg Square

Rebuild recently it is the biggest Main Square of Albania. Surrounded by the Government Buildings and in the middle of the 2 main boulevards of Tirana. This square had seen a lot and had lots to tell.

WalkingNew Bazaar Area

One of the 10th most interesting Bazaars in Balkans! Renovated under the same project as the Main Square it is a good combination of Local Food, Souvenirs shop and lots of bars.
