   An interesting and very informative trip with Skerdi Both Pristina and Prizren were interesting to visit but definatly Prizren stands out  highly reccomended !

   It was so nice to walk through the city and learn about the culture, history and current conditions of the country from Julio, a local Albanian guide. He was patient... read more with any detours we requested and endless questions 🙂 We stopped at 4 different places to dry different authentic foods, it was so fun to try them all... I've learned Albanians have an endless supply of cheeses 🙂

What to Expect

This tour is based on a good proportion of Driving toward the North of Albania and walking around Shkoder. In addition, the first part of the tour is slightly more challenging with the uphill toward Rozafa Castle. The rest of the city is flat and quite comfortable to walk.

Visit Shkoder and Skadar Lake from Tirana

First StopTirana to Rozafa Castle

After we leave Tirana, we will head toward the North of Albania with the Castle of Rozafa as the first stop. Build over the top of a hill, in an overlooking position over the City, the Castle has played a crucial role in Albanian History dating from the Antiquity and the Iliryan – Roman Wars. Its building history is also connected with one of the most fascinating legends of Albanian Epos.

Second VisitCity tour of Shkoder

After leaving the Castle we will head down to the city of Shkoder. Famous for its typical architecture, sense of humor, and warm welcome, it has been one of the most important centers of Albania. Shkodra is also a city with a high religious tolerance. In a short distance, we can find a Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, and Muslim Mosque next to each other.

Third StopEnchanting Engelberg

After diving through the history and culture of this city we will have the possibility to explore some picturesque views of Skadar lake and Shiroke. Lied by the Skadar lake, this part of the city is very often visited also for its own special cuisine and “Karp” fish specialties.
